Ses Culleres: Relaxed Atmosphere, Spectacular Views and Seasonal Cuisine
If you're exploring the vibrant food culture of Menorca, be sure to add Ses Culleres to your itinerary. This latest offering from the team behind Mahón’s beloved Ses Forquilles restaurant, not only lives up to expectations, it exceeds them. Their goal to serve honest, market-based cuisine with updated versions of traditional dishes is a complete success.
Located at the end of a quiet alley just off of the charming Plaça de Conquesta, Ses Culleres overlooks Mahón’s bright blue port, offering guests the unique opportunity to peer down on boats cruising through one of the largest natural harbours in the world.

Not only are their views spectacular, but so is their food. With over twenty tempting starter options, including sweet grilled Menorcan prawns and the best raola de escarol I’ve ever had (a traditional escarole fritter - a must try), Ses Culleres is a fantastic place to try many different smaller plates and experience new flavours and textures.
While you wait for your order, get refreshed with a cold draft Mediterranean beer (known locally as a caña) and complimentary crisps that you can opt to drizzle with the house hot sauce.
Because everyone on the island does it a little differently, we always order the pan con tomate (toasted bread rubbed with fresh tomato, extra virgin olive oil and sea salt). At Ses Culleres, it is a crispier version of the classic using pan de cristal - highly recommended. If you are a steak lover, you must try their lomo bajo de vaca menorquina, a ribeye style cut of delicious Menorcan beef.

Ses Culleres' vow to offer local, seasonal products is evident in every dish. When we asked for the fried artichoke hearts with romesco sauce, our server politely informed us that since artichokes are no longer in season, she could offer us asparagus in its place, one of the many times the restaurant’s pledge to only serve seasonal produce is proven. The refreshing farm tomato salad served with shaved Menorcan artisanal cheese and basil, was another beautiful example of their devotion to seasonal produce and is a brilliant rendition of the classic caprese salad.
For dessert, our server recommended the house version of torrija, a traditional dessert similar to french toast, but at Ses Culleres, it is lightly doused in rum, lit on fire tableside and then topped with vanilla ice cream - a truly memorable dessert option.
With such a strong start, the team behind the Ses Forquilles group should be proud—Ses Culleres is a stunning addition to Menorca’s culinary map and a true testament to the island’s evolving food scene.
