What are the best beaches to visit near Ciutadella?
Ciutadella is close to some of Menorca's most iconic beaches, including Cala Turqueta and Cala Macarella, both very much worth a visit. However, because of their exceptional beauty and protected landscape, access is limited to these gems. The closest parking to the beach is about a 15 minute walk and is seriously regulated and often full. Unless you arrive really early (before 9am) or really late (after 8pm), expect the parking lot to be closed to more traffic during the high season. Your best bet is to take the public bus from Ciutadella (#68 to Turqueta and #69 to Macarella).
Son Saura beach is also a favourite, accessible via bus #66.
You can also take the bus #53 from Ciutadella to Cala Galdana, a beautiful beach village. Cala Galdana has many family-friendly restaurants and activities for children, making it a perfect destination for families.
If the wind is strong from the south, take the #62 bus to the north coast and visit Cala Algaiarens.
