Expert Review - Exceptional Value in the Historic Heart of Ciutadella

Located within the heart of Ciutadella’s historic old town, only meters from the stunning 14th Century Cathedral de Menorca, but nestled on a quiet cobblestone street, Cheap & Chic is exactly what you would expect from its name: terrific value and quite stylish. Here you can expect modern comfort and hospitable amenities while staying in an authentic 18th Century renovated manor house.

Each of the seven rooms at Cheap & Chic are unique and have their own name, after the prominent elements of Menorca: Aire (Air), Arcilla (Clay), Sal (Salt), Viento (Wind), Tierra (Earth), Agua (Water), and Arena (Sand). Each room features original art from some of Menorca’s most well-known artists.

Aire, Arcilla, Sal, and Viento are double rooms, and Viento has the privilege of its own private rooftop terrace, and Tierra a private garden. Tierra, Agua and Arena are spacious suites that feature a main bedroom and an additional space with a sofa-bed.

My favorite is Arena, a stunning beamed loft room with lots of space and a gorgeous shower with high-quality complimentary soaps. You can wake-up to birds chirping and the cathedral bells ringing and enjoy a coffee in bed, thanks to the in-room espresso machine!

The location could not be better in terms of being able to walk right out of the hotel and whether you go left or right, you are in the most vibrant, spectacular part of Ciutadella, with an array of wonderful shops, restaurants and markets only seconds away. Yet the street that the hotel is on is very calm and charming, and entrance to the hotel couldn’t be easier. Guests receive a welcome message before arrival specifying their entrance code, which works to enter both the front door of the hotel and your room, no key required! And you will find that the hotel is very clean. Highly recommended and I can’t wait to go back to Arena!
